Mary Sandlin, 75, a long time Rushville area resident, passed away July 1, 2020 in Rushville. Mary was born July 8, 1944 in Greensburg to Alvin & Erma (Brown) Chance. Mary was a nurses aid many years at Jackson Nursing Home & Hillside Haven. She was a cook at McDonald’s in Rushville for 10 years, retiring in 2006. She is survived by her son, Oscar Howard McDonald of Rushville, her daughters, Cindy Peyton (Mike Edwards) of Rushville and Monica Looney of Goshen, a brother, Charles (Joann) Chance of Nashville, TN, a sister, Dorothy Davis of Niles, OH, grandchildren, Bessie & Joshua Peyton and Scotty & John Custer and great grandchildren, Tyler Dixon, Joey & Austin Hopkins and Bentley & Addilynn Peyton. Mary was predeceased by her parents, a son, Timothy Allen Peyton, grandsons, Kenny Peyton & Cooper McDonald and brothers, Ray, John & James Chance. Services will be held at 1 PM Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at Moster Mortuary, Rushville. Friends are welcome to visit the family from 11 AM until service time on Tuesday. Private burial will take place in Rushville’s East Hill Cemetery Columbarium. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
