Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford Lon Estus Mason, 73, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2020, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at Greenville City Cemetery (1000 South Main Street, Greenville, MS 38701). Bro. Charles Lipe will officiate. Coleman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Lon’s favorite thing to do was to listen to gospel hymns and read Bible stories. He was a member at Clear Creek Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Greenville. Lon also enjoyed bowling. Lon’s favorite movie was The Wizard of Oz, with his favorite character being Dorothy. Lon is survived by his sister, Martha (Mike) McKee, of Oxford; brother, Robert (Shirley) Mason, of Oxford; four nieces, Lisa Woods, of Little Rock, AR, Lori (Trey) Smith, of Brandon, MS, Carla-Jo (Tony) Rutledge and Karen (Daniel) Mehan, both of Oxford, MS; one great-nephew, Aubrey Mehan, of Oxford; and a host of cousins. Lon was preceded in death by his parents, Carl L Mason and Allene Griffin Mason. Memorials in lieu of flowers may be sent to Clear Creek Baptist Church (46 CR 313, Oxford, MS, 38655) or Anchor Baptist Church Building Fund (1009 HWY 7 South, Water Valley, MS 38965).
