Obituary Josephine Chernek, age 89, of Nebo, NC went to be with the Lord Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at Deer Park Health & Rehabilitation. Mrs. Chernek was born May 24, 1931 in Suffolk, England to the late Fred Girling and Honor Freeman Girling. She worked as a secretary for the Vice President of Columbus Line Industries, which was in the Twin Towers, in New York, NY, until her retirement. She was strong willed and determined. She enjoyed needle pointing, crochet, working in her flower garden and she loved animals. She especially loved spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, John Chernek; her son, David Clark; her daughter, Gloria Wyatt and husband, Lester; and a great grandson, Daniel Wyatt. Those left behind to cherish Mrs. Chernek’s memory are two children, Carol Allen (Cliff) of Berkshire, England and Lee Engdor (Ping) of New Jersey; twelve grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; and nine great-great grandchildren. Due to the pandemic the family will have a private memorial service held at Westmoreland Funeral Home Chapel.
