Helen “Betty” Elizabeth Long September 09, 1932 – July 28, 2020 Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Helen Elizabeth “Betty” Long, of Highland Village, went to be with her Lord and Savior at 6:00 AM on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at the age of 87. Betty was born September 9, 1932, in Gainesville, to Joe and Helen Albers Nichols. She was married to Troy Long for 67 years who has preceded her in death. They spent most of their married life in Irving. Betty worked for nineteen years for an Irving Bank as a Vice President in Human Resources. She retired in 1989 from Guidestone Financial, formerly known as the Annuity Board of the Southern Baptist Convention. Mrs. Long is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Terry and Lisa Long of Highland Village; daughter and son-in-law Roslyn and Gary McGowan of Lewisville; daughter and son-in-law Rhonda Sue and David Collier of Sulphur Springs; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, July 31, 2020 in Fairview Cemetery, Gainesville, with Minister Todd Hamilton officiating.
