Obituary Gerald Otto Mielens was born in Portsmouth Twp., Bay County, MI on July 2, 1929 to the late Albert and Dorothy (Andresen) Mielens. He passed away on July 18, 2020 at the Bay Medical Care Facility in Esville, MI. He was retired from General Motors in Saginaw. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion Post 18 and the Amvets Post 22. Survivors include 2 brothers: Alvin (Bernadine) Mielens and Donald (Shirley) Mielens and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna J. (Lehmann) Mielens on December 30, 2009. A private funeral service will be held at Penzien-Steele Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Gerisch officiating. Burial will be at Floral Gardens Cemetery.
