Obituary Doris Myers Dickens, 86, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 26, 2020 at her daughter’s home surrounded by her family. She was born in Alamance County to the late Russell William Myers and Connie Carden Myers and was married to the late Robert Earl Dickens. She was a lifetime member of Glen Hope Baptist Church where she faithfully sang in the choir and served in the children’s department for over 50 years. Doris also volunteered as a Pink Lady with the ARMC Auxiliary. Doris enjoyed playing games with her friends. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother who truly enjoyed spending time with her family. Survivors include her daughters, Jean Keck (Tim), Teresa Byrd; grandchildren, Wayne Wilson (Laura), Kristi Irby (Ricky), Robert Byrd (Jessie), Meghan Byrd; great grandchildren, Isaac and Holden Wilson, Braeden and Brittyn Irby. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and son-in-law, Randy Byrd. A service to celebrate her life will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at Glen Hope Baptist Church by Rev. Lewis Baber. Interment will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Glen Hope Baptist Church, 911 North Ave., Burlington, NC 27217 or to the Hospice Home, 914 Chapel Hill Rd., Burlington, NC 27215.
