Clyde Dale Stephens July 16, 1947 – July 30, 2020 Share this obituary Send Flowers Upload Photo| View/Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card “Be not forgetful to entertain strangers for thereby some have entertained angels unaware.” Hebrews 13:2 Clyde Dale Stephens passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 30th at his home in Leesville, Louisiana. He was born on July 16th, 1947 in Deridder, Louisiana. Mr. Stephens attended Pickering High School where he met his best friend and one true love, Freida Wilson Stephens. The high school sweethearts wed on July 19th, 1968, and started a beautiful life together. Mr. Stephens worked as a self employed truck driver for his father until 1984. For the next part of his career life, he worked for a production offshore rig where he served as lead operator. Clyde enjoyed the great outdoors, welding in his workshop, hitting the open road in his RV, John Wayne westerns, and putting everyone to shame on any dance floor his boots floated across. He was an avid storyteller and did not meet a stranger. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Freida; son Ricky and wife Rebecca Stephens of Anacoco, La; daughter Jeannie and husband Chris Booty of Leesville, La; four grandchildren, Steven Petty of Leesville, Kayli Stephens of Anacoco, Alisha and husband Bryce Adams of Simpson, and Tyler Stephens of Anacoco; and three great grandchildren Bentley, Kayden, and Hudson Adams. He is preceded in death by his parents Robert Howell Stephens and Dolly Cryer Stephens. The funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. in the Craft Cemetery in Leesville. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. in the Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Leesville. Those honored to serve as pallbearer are Huey Wilson Jr., Odell Wilson, Milton Midkiff, David Midkiff, Kevin Taylor, Christopher Welch.
