Charles J. Krecko, Jr. “Charlie Boy”, peacefully passed away on July 28, 2020 at the University of Penna Hospital with his family by his side. Born in Philadelphia on September 13, 1937 to Charles J. and Mary (nee: Hagan) Krecko, Sr and has since been a lifelong resident of Grays Ferry. He was a proud United States Navy Veteran and a retiree of E.I. DuPont Chemical Company where he worked in the Security Department. In recent years Charles has worked as a ticket taker for the Philadelphia Phillies Franchise. He was affectionately known as “Charlie K” by fans and coworkers, he loved his job at the stadium and was a huge Phillies fan. He was an incredibly creative person who enjoyed working with his hands-on wood projects in his homemade wood shop, his basement. also he was a talented artist who would spend time drawing. Chal loved people, speaking with them and reminiscing with them. Together with his wife he enjoyed taking cruises and spending time with their families. Beloved husband of Catherine (nee: Forbes) and the late Catherine (nee: McCallion). Loving father of Annamae (Timmy) McKenna, Mary Kate (Jimmy) Burke, Charles (Susan) Krecko III, Kitty (Late Pat) Younkers, Joey Krecko, Roxanne (Michael) Martucci, Brian Martorano and John (Fiancée Andrea Capanna) Martorano. Dearest grandfather to 10 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Dearest brother to Anna French, Kathleen Rinick and the late Rose Conn and Marie McGarry. Also, he will be sadly missed by his nieces, nephews, cousins and many good friends. Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation Tuesday morning, August 4, 2020 beginning 9:30am at St. Gabriel’s Church, 29 th & Dickinson Streets. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11am. Burial will follow at SS: Peter & Paul Cemetery. Memorial donations in his memory can be made to “Our House Ministries”, 1441 S. 29th Street Phila., PA 19146.
