James’ Obituary Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his faithful servants. 16 Truly I am your servant, Lord; I serve you just as my mother did; you have freed me from my chains. 17 I will sacrifice a thank offering to you and call on the name of the Lord. 18 I will fulfill my vows to the Lord in the presence of all his people, James Joseph Bailen, age 74, of Washburn, passed away, Saturday, June 27, 2020 at Northern Lights Health Care Center in Washburn. He was born June 13, 1946 in Ashland, the son of Joseph and Margaret (Bergstrom) Bailen. Jim graduated from Ondossagon High School in 1964. He served in the U.S. Army for a few years during the Vietnam War. He married the love of his life, Rose Koleski on July 6, 1968 in Moquah. Jim and Rose moved to Nampa, Idaho where Jim began his own business, the Eyeglass Shop in 1976. In 1990, Jim and Rose returned to Ashland where Jim owned and operated the Eyeglass Shop until his retirement in 2018. Jim was a Packer fan, avid golfer and self-taught oil painter. He was an elder and active member of the Grace Bible Fellowship Evangelical Free Church of Washburn where he served as bible studies leader for many years. Jim’s faith, love and devotion to his family were always present in his life. He looked forward to morning breakfast gatherings with his sister Mary Piff and nephew and niece Jon and Patti Piff. He also cherished working alongside his son and grandson throughout the years. He is survived by his wife, Rose; children, Robert Joseph (Laura) Bailen, Karen Florence Farrar, Steven James (Tina) Bailen and Scott Anthony (Kim) Bailen; 7 grandchildren, Stephanie (Jeremy) Swagger, Cody (Megan) Bailen, Cortland (Mariah) Bailen, Braden Farrar, Jake Farrar, Moriah Bailen and Taylor Bailen; 3 great-grandchildren, Adeline, Bentley and Luka; a sister, Mary (Jerry) Piff; and nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister. Services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Bratley Funeral Home of Washburn Read More
