Vicki’s Obituary VICKI FRANKLIN Vicki Sue Franklin, age 73, Joplin, passed away at 5:15 a.m. Monday, May 11, 2020 at a Joplin Health and Rehabilitation Center after a long courageous battle with Parkinson’s. Vicki was born April 29, 1947 in Joplin to Henry Sohosky and the late Donna Foshay Sohosky and had lived in the area most of her life. Vicki worked as an accountant for the City of Joplin, owned and operated the Main Street Bar and also operated H & L Driving Range for several years. She had also worked at All Seasons Florist for her brother for a period of time. Vicki enjoyed the outdoors, spending time at the lake and mowing her lawn. She loved golf, bowling and just being around her grandchildren. Vicki loved the color purple! She will be missed by everyone that knew and loved her. She married Michael Franklin in 1967 in Joplin. He preceded her in death in July of 1981. Vicki was also preceded in death by long time companion, John Burrington. Survivors include her children, Tim Franklin and wife, Angie, Carl Junction, Greg Franklin and wife, Allie, Seattle, WA; grandchildren, Devyn, Taitym, Masyn, Darci; her father, Henry Sohosky; siblings, Sandy Harris and husband, Randy, and Randy Sohosky and wife, Terri; and several extended family members. A memorial visitation will be held Thursday, May 14, 2020 from 10:00 – 11:00 am at Parker Mortuary Chapel. Inurnment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation in care of the mortuary. Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary. Read More
