Obituary Verna M. Joslin, 92 of Granite City passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 16, 2020 at Stearns Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Granite City. Verna was born on February 28, 1928 in Shrewsbury, MA; the daughter of the late Wilmer and Florence Pelkey. Verna had worked for Dapol Plastics for many years and just loved to spend time with her family. Verna will be remembered for the love of her family and all the special times they shared together. Verna is survived by and will be missed by her children; Nancy and Roy Howell of Granite City, Francis Joslin of Falmouth, MA; grandchildren, Sharon and (Paulos) Berghman, Tina and (Brian) Galloway, George and (B.J.) Schofield, John and (Lisa) Schofield, Tara Murphy, Jaime Bothelo, Jessica Andrade, Robert Joslin, Carol Fullum, Alex Fullum, Nikki, Katie, Missy, Tina; great-grandchildren, Hailey, Heather, Alahna, Brenna, Cailyn, Daleigh, Kayla, Dennis Jr., Patrick, Britany, Taylor, Charlie, Devon, Briar, Cyrus, Brandon, J.J., Kaylea, Flynn, Caitlyn Njuguna, Faith Nujguna; great-great-grandchildren, Matthew and 2 other little ones; and many other close family members and friends. In addition to her parents, Verna was preceded in death by her husband; Francis J. Joslin, whom she married in 1946; sons, William P. Joslin, Michael J. Joslin; granddaughter, Courtney Joslin; brothers, Lester Pelkey, Howard Pelkey, Richard Pelkey, Elmer Pelkey; sisters, Lucille Christanko, Theda Bush. In celebration of Verna’s life a family memorial service is being planned for a later date. Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City is serving the family.
