Obituary Thomas B. Carr, Sr., 87, husband of the late Vivian Lucille Cox Carr died Thursday, May 28, 2020 Born in Abingdon, VA Tom was a son of the late Clinton and Nannie Elizabeth Henley Carr. He was a part-time funeral associate and a retired employee of Amoco Performance Company retiring after 27 years of service. Tom was an avid bicycle rider and enjoyed carving as a hobby. Surviving are a son, Thomas B. Carr, Jr. “Tom”of Greenville; and a very special grandson, Thomas Carr, III whom he loved very much; two sisters, Nancy McMurray and Mary Mann of Greenville; and brother, Johnny W. Carr of Fountain Inn. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Betty Jo Frye, Linda D. Staples and Velma G. Brown and a brother; Clinton Carr, Jr. Body will lie in state Sunday, May 31, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. A funeral service will be held Monday, June 1, 2020, 3:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest with the burial following in Greenville Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorials to the Greenville Heart Association, 301 University Rdg, Ste 55, Greenville, SC 29601 or to Greenville Alzheimer’s Association, 123 W Antrim Dr, Greenville, SC 29607.
