Rosanne’s Obituary The Krupicka Family invites you to view Rosanne’s funeral service (scroll to the bottom of the obituary), and would like to thank you for taking the time to share in our loss. Rosanne Kay Krupicka, 69, of Austin, Minnesota, passed into Eternal Life on Tuesday afternoon, April 14, 2020 in the ICU at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota. She learned of her terminal illness only days before her death. Rosanne was an only child born to George Joseph and Lorrayne Viola (Hammel) Krupicka on December 24, 1950 in Austin, Minnesota. She graduated from Austin High School in 1969, and in later years, received a degree in bookkeeping/accounting. She moved with her mother when Lorrayne attended Mankato State University, and then in 1971 to 1979, lived with her mother in Buffalo, Minnesota. They moved back to Austin in 1979 and Rose worked for a time doing bookkeeping for a small Austin business. Rosanne loved her cats, Kendall and Jennifer. She and her Mother always had a couple of cats and loved them all. Rose was passionate about watching football, both college and professional. She enjoyed reading magazines, listening to her beloved Beatles records and watching TV. Her favorite show was “Law and Order”, she loved Star Trek, and just older TV shows in general. She enjoyed talking on the phone. Rose loved her Uncle Milford Hammel, an engineer who did work for the Space Program when he was alive. He always made sure his sister and niece were taken care of. Rosanne was a loving and devoted daughter and took wonderful care of her Mom while she was still at home and visited her faithfully while she was in Sacred Heart Care Center in Austin. Rose loved her cousins, they were her family. She worried about them and always prayed for their well-being. When she was so ill, she thought about her friend from church, Ozzie, and her close high school friend, Barb and wished she could see them. Rose was a lifelong member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her father, George in 1960 and her mother, Lorrayne in 2016. Rose is survived by her “double” cousin, “sister” and friend, Shareen (Don) Krupicka Carlson of Austin and their children, Dr. Shari Jainuddin of California, Robert (Staci) Schmidt of Austin and their families; cousins, Shawn (John) Krupicka Gutowski, Lonny (Carie) Krupicka and family and their mother, Audrey Knutson Krupicka, all of Minnesota; Scarlett (William) Krupicka Glover of Olympia, Washington, and their children, James (Nancy) Glover of California, Jason (Erin) Glover of Washington, and Jill (Delain) Glover Johnson of Washington; Jack (Charlotte) Krupicka of St. George, Utah and their children, Daniel (Dixie) Krupicka of Utah, Linda (Kevin) Krupicka Taylor of California, Nancy (Ray) Krupicka Cottrell of Minnesota and Wendy (Matthew) Krupicka Sommers of Illinois and their families; first cousins, Leonard Krupicka and Marion Krupicka Quirin, both of Austin and their families; also Donna Tanner, Sonja Thompson, Carol Roberts and Sherry Knapp and their families; and more cousins too numerous to list. Always remembered by the ending of her phone messages: “This is Rose, Good Bye!” Private funeral services will be held with the Reverend Michael Olmsted officiating. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Austin. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Mower County Humane Society. Read More
