Funeral services for Rodney Wayne Brooks, age 45, of Rusk are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 4, 2020 at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Brooks and Rev. Ray Crocker officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Mr. Brooks passed away May 29, 2020. He was born December 3, 1974 in Jacksonville, TX. He was a resident of Rusk formerly of Lufkin, TX and a graduate of the Rusk High School Class of 1993. He also served in the United States Navy, loved to hunt and fish and party with friends where he was known as “the life of the party.” He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ozell Ray, Sylvester and Altha Patrick, uncles, Ellis Wade Patrick, Freddy Patrick and aunt, Linda Dubois. He is survived by his daughter, Riley LeighAnn Brooks of Rusk, mother, Wanda Patrick of Rusk, father, Benny Brooks of Rusk, sister and brother-in-law, Mashell and Casey Gates of Rusk, sister, Stephanie Stevens of Rusk as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. Pallbearers will include Mark Yarbrough, Joshua Powers, Jody Watson, Craig Ballew, Tony Langston and Justin Wilson. Honorary pallbearers will be Alan Trawick, Anthony Brumit, Bubba Knight, Brian Dunn, Pete Ebanez, Jason Williams, Jamie Moeser, Jason Flemming and Bubba Lout.
