Wingfield, age 94, World War II Army Air Corps veteran; beloved husband of 70 years of Virginia, nee Phillips; loving father of James and Thomas (Kathi); dear grandfather of Donna, Nathanael, Alaurah, and Grace. Services are private. In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of your choice appreciated. Bob was born in Chicago, attended Prussing Elementary School, Taft High School, and North Park Junior College. In 1942, he volunteered into the United States Army Air Corps where he served for 2 ½ years. Bob attended Vanderbilt University, graduated from Electrical School, and went to work at Erickson Electrical Equipment Company in Chicago, first as a Sales Engineer. In 1980, he was made Executive Vice-President and Managing Director of the company. Some of Bob’s affiliations include: member of the American Legion Commonwealth Edison Post, President of the Jonquil Terrace Civic Association in Niles, IL, member of the Niles Commission, member of the International Association of Electrical Inspectors, life membership in the Institute of Electrical Inspectors, President of the Chicagoland Metropolitan Switchboard Association, and member of the Industrial Advisory Committee of Underwriters Laboratories. Bob was also President of the Wingfield Family Society of the World and was Lord of the Manor of Wingfield. He was also a deacon of the Wilmette Church of Christ.
