Mr. Robert Everett “Spike” Craton, Jr., age 83, of Dallas, GA, passed away on Saturday May 2, 2020. Spike was born in Dallas, GA, to parents, the late Mr. Robert Everett “Spike” Craton, Sr. and the late Mrs. Berlie Mae Bell Craton. Affectionately known as Spike, Jr., Mr. Craton worked as an airline mechanic for Delta Airlines until his retirement. Spike was married to the love of his life, Mrs. Ilan Hulsey Craton for many happy years until her passing. In his spare time, Spike loved quail hunting and enjoyed learning local history and genealogy; and he loved regaling others with his newfound knowledge in these subjects. Spike will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Spike is survived by his children, Eric Craton (Eva Jo) and Kevin Craton; grandchildren, Brandy Davis (Mike), Keith Craton, Joelle Sutton (Silas), Emily Murphy (Robert), Hannah Craton, and Kendall Craton (Carol Anne); 10 great-grandchildren also survive. In addition to his parents, Spike is preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Ilan Craton. In keeping with local, state, and federal guidelines and the family’s wishes, private graveside services will be held for the immediate family. A memorial service open to the public to celebrate Spike’s life will be held on Saturday June 20, 2020 at Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home.
