Lobb April 23, 1929 – May 12, 2020 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| View Guestbook Entries| Send Sympathy Card MINNEOLA, KANSAS – Richard “Dick” Lobb, 91, died Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at Minneola Long Term Care. He was born on April 23, 1929 at the family home on a farm near Oskaloosa, Kansas, the son of George and Willetta May (Belle) Lobb. He graduated from Winchester High School in 1947 and married the former Midge Lederer in 1948. Dick and Midge were married for 47 years until her passing in 1995. Dick farmed and helped construct silos for the first few years of his marriage to Midge and then worked for Dupont De Nemours and Company for over 30 years in Tecumseh. He enjoyed family time, woodworking, remodeling, building and for a few years working with his long horn cattle. He married Joan Curry on August 31, 1996 and during their marriage, he generated numerous wood working projects out of his Minneola wood working shop and fed birds and squirrels hundreds of pounds of sunflower seeds and peanuts. He was a wonderful husband, father and family man and will be sorely missed. Survivors include: his wife Joan, of the home, sister, Donna Wenger, Hiawatha, Kansas, daughter, Kathy Sumner, Lawrence, Kansas, sons, Clyde Lobb (Pam), Shell Knob, Missouri, Ken Lobb (Nancy), Canton, Georgia, stepson Wayne (Anita) Curry, Minneola, Terry Curry, Kansas City, Missouri, 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren and 4 step-grandchildren and 9 step-great grandchildren. He is also preceded in death by wife, Midge Lobb, brother, Clifford Lobb and sisters, Bessie Everett, Mildred Hoecker and Imogene Lobb. Memorial services will be determined at a later date. There will be no public viewing, cremation has taken place. The family suggests memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association in care of Ziegler Funeral Chapel, 1901 N. 14th Ave., Dodge City, Kansas 67801.
