Ralph Glenn July 28, 1930 – May 15, 2020 Share this obituary Send Flowers Upload Photo| Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card| Memorial Donation Ralph Glenn born July 28,1930 in Sedalia, Missouri passed away at age 89 at his home in Warsaw shared with his wife Vaneta. He received is AA degree in Business Management from State Fair College. His military career began at age 18 with the Missouri National Guard. During the Korean War he served in the U.S. Navy and later in the U.S. Air Force. He served two tours of combat zone duty in Vietnam. At age 46 he retired with the rank of Master Sergeant, receiving numerous military awards and decorations including the Meritorious Achievement Award. Ralph worked on the family farm, a trucking company, the grocery store on Engineer Street in Sedalia, Pittsburg Corning Glass Factory in Sedalia and in the Chicken Picking Department at the Producers Processing Plant in Sedalia. After retirement he was a substitute teacher, he also obtained his broker’s license and opened Truman Lake Realty in Lincoln. He was well known as a great mechanic and always lent a helping hand as needed. Ralph had an early love of motorcycles starting with a 1935 Harley-Davidson Knuckle Head and he continued to ride with various motorcycles including a Honda Gold Wing. His hobbies include fishing, going to farm auctions, attending many concerts at the Grand Old Opry. His favorite music was bluegrass and Hank Williams. He enjoyed RVing and reading his westerns in Port Isabel, Texas. Ralph is survived by his loving wife Vaneta, two sons, Ron Glenn and his wife Susan, of Palm Desert, California and Don Glenn, and his wife Kathy Jo, of Warsaw, a step daughter, Phyllis Benedict, of Wheatland, Missouri, two granddaughters; Melissa Glenn, of Huntington Beach, California and Kristy Glenn Giordando, and her husband Shaun, of Cedar Glen, California, a brother Don Glenn, and his wife Judy, of Mississippi, a sister-in-law Donna Glenn of Warsaw, a cousin, Ruth Wilcox, of Lovana, Michigan and his nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in law He is preceded in death by his parents Ward and Addia Glenn, a brother Ernest Glenn and his step mother Etta Glenn. Funeral Services for Ralph Glenn will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at the Davis-Miller Funeral Home in Lincoln, Missouri. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Graveside Services and Military Rites will follow the funeral at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery near Lincoln.
