Larry Allen Holbert (age 76) left this world peacefully in his sleep, May 6th, 2020.

Larry was proceeded in death by his father, Melvin R. Holbert, his mother Evelyn M. Talley, and his beloved wife, Carol J. Holbert. He leaves behind his brother, Jim R. Holbert, his sister Carol S. Quillen, and three children, Teddi R. Crawford (Todd), Robert S. Holbert (Megan), Larry A. Holbert Jr. (Tammy) and grandchildren Jordan C. Budzick (Daniel), Ben A. Holbert and Jazmine N. Holbert, great grandchildren Emma G. Reece and Kelsey M.  Budzick and several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren that he had not had the opportunity to bond with yet, along with several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.

Larry was a passionate patriot who served in the U.S. Army on foreign soil and came home to serve his community for many years in law enforcement. He was also a Master Mason and Shriner and life time member of the VFW.

Larry loved his country and family, and if you were his friend, he considered you family. If you were fortunate enough to share a cup of coffee with him, you knew of his legendary stories. His unique life experience and folksy advice always made you feel a little wiser for the sharing. He leaves many family and friends with treasured memories of hunting, fishing, and camping trips.

For such a small statured person, Larry had a huge and dynamic impact on everyone who loved him. He left us with one last motto that summarized his attitude in life; “Count your age by friends, not years. Count your life by smiles not tears.” He will be deeply missed and forever loved.

Funeral arrangements will be made at a later date.
