June 3 1938 May 1 2020
Pedro Alberto Cervantes, 81, of Esville, our loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend was born into eternal life on Friday, May 1, 2020 at Bay Medical Care Facility. Chico was born in San Antonio, Texas on June 3, 1938, the son of the late Pedro Hinojosa and Isabella Benita (Gonzales) Cervantes. While working in the field, Pedro met the former Maria Luisa Lopez. On August 15, 1960 they were united in marriage at Holy Family Church in Sebewaing. Chico retired from the City of Esville from the Public Works Department. He enjoyed being a volunteer fireman and a member of the Knights of Columbus, Fr. VanRooy Council. Pedro also enjoyed wood burning, drawing, and was always noticed around to for the stogies that would hang out of the corner of his mouth. Pedro had a giant personality, a quick smile, a bad joke, or a never-ending story for all he met. We will all miss your smile, your laughter, and the unconditional love you gave each and every one of us. He leaves to carry on his legacy, his faithful wife of 59 years, Maria Luisa Cervantes and their children: Anna Lisa Appold and Marisa (Mathew) Johnson; grandchildren, Marcie (Kyle) Kennedy and Rory Mikael Cervantes; siblings, Ralph Cervantes, Richard (Marilyn) Cervantes, Suzanna Roznowski, Eloisa (Daniel) Sartain, Geraldo (Charlie) Cervantes, Teresa (Luis) Cordova, Alex Cervantes, Eduardo (Madie) Cervantes, Benito (Lisa) Cervantes, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended Cervantes and Gonzales family members. In addition to his parents, Pedro was preceded in death by his brothers, Jose and Carmen Cervantes. Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, The Rite of Committal will be held privately in St. Patrick Cemetery. A memorial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the wishes of the family. Final arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 821 N. Pine Rd., between Ridge & Center. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family online at www.skorupskis.com. We will all miss your smile, your laughter, and the unconditional love you gave each and every one of us.
