Obituary It’s with great sadness that the family of Patricia Schmidt announces her sudden and unexpected passing. Patricia Ann Schmidt, 61, passed on Friday, May 15th, 2020 at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, Illinois. Pat was born to Joseph & Catherine (nee Stafin) Esquibel in Chicago, Illinois on October 18th, 1958. She is survived by her husband Robert Schmidt; her children Heather Schmidt, Eric (Stephanie) Schmidt and Ryan Schmidt; her grandchildren Caleb Schmidt(5), Summer Schmidt(1) and Emmy Schmidt (3 months); her brother Raymond (Barbara) Esquibel, and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. For the past 38 years, Pat was a loving wife to Robert Schmidt. Together they had three loving children who adored their mother. Each child truly had an unbreakable bond with her. Her love and support she provided throughout her life will be one that carries on throughout their lifetimes. Her family adored her; she was the light and rock in her family’s lives. She was truly the greatest advocate, supporter, and believer in all of her children’s dreams and goals. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy whom she loved more than words could explain. Nothing gave her more joy than having her grandchildren in her arms. Pat loved being surrounded by her family and friends and was always warm and welcoming to everyone she came across. Pat routinely attended her “ladies breakfasts” with some of her closest friends, always returning home smiling and raving about her time. To many of her children’s friends she was given the honored title of second mom. A passion of hers was crocheting, she made the most beautiful blankets around. Christmas was her favorite holiday, but she enjoyed celebrating them all. Each Christmas, Pat would decorate her house from top to bottom and enjoyed spoiling her children and grandchildren. Her favorite part was being with her family and seeing everyone smile as they opened gifts Christmas morning. Throughout Pat’s life, she had many health obstacles thrown her way, but always fought those battles with a smile on her face and her family by her side. She was a fighter through and through. Pat’s family will cherish her memory in their hearts forever. She is proceeded in death by her parents Joseph and Catherine (nee Stafin) Esquibel.
