Obituary Nye R. “Butch” Martin, 77, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2020. Born in Providence, Butch was the son of the late Horace L. and Selina E. (Stankes) Martin. He was a self-employed plumber, before his retirement. Butch is survived by his daughters, Robin L. Martin, of Oregon, the late Debra Ann Martineau Renfrew and Emma Tatalo of Providence, his grandchildren, Michael D. Martineau of Cranston, Danielle K. Branch of Connecticut, Jason R. Bello, Alexys M. Martin, Matthew R. Barber of Oregon, Brad A. Barber of New Hampshire, as well as his great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was the former husband of Karen L Renfrew, who remained a big part of his life. Butch also had many great cousins and friends in his life. Butch was a wonderful, caring, father and grandfather. He loved being called Butch. His sense of humor, kept all who knew him smiling and laughing, no matter how bad things got. His quick wit and humor will keep us smiling for a lifetime. A celebration of Butch’s life will take place at a future date. Donations may be made in his memory to the MS Dream Center, Peter Pastore Youth Center 155 Gansett Avenue, Cranston, RI 02910.
