Nils J. Nilson, 71, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma died on May 16, 2020, at his home. Nils was born on November 24, 1948, in Brooklyn, New York to parents Ingvald Nilson and Sadie Wusyk Nilson. He served as a member of the United States Navy for seven years and went on to receive his bachelor’s degree from Rhode Island University and his master’s degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He worked as a mechanical engineer for Phillips Petroleum from 1980 to 2002. In 1974 he married Turid Loyning and the couple had two sons, Erik and Fredrick. Nils’ favorite activities were fishing and woodcarving. Nils is survived by his wife, Turid Nielson, sons Eric and Frederick Nielson, his sister Kari and her husband Rick, and many more family members in Norway. A memorial service will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Bartlesville on May 20th, 2020 at 1:30 pm. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Nils J.
