November 15 1937 May 3 2020
Mrs. Audrey Truman, 82, passed peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, on Sunday, May 3, 2020. She was preceded in death by her loving and dedicated husband of over 53 years, Jimmie L. Truman, MSgt USA Ret. She is survived by her four children; Jim Truman, SMSgt USAF Ret., and daughter in-law Gemma of North Las Vegas, NV, Eileen Truman of Ocean Springs, MS, Becky Rider and son in-law Craig of Ocean Springs, MS, and Mike Truman and daughter in-law Kim of Warner Robins, GA; nine grandchildren; Kristin Sichmeller (Todd), Thomas Ritchie, Corey Akers (Sarah), Paul Ritchie (Crystal), Melissa Truman, Danielle Jagodzinski (Andrew), Katrina Truman, Ross Rider, and Jamie Truman and 4 great-grandchildren, Silas Lovell, Breckin Sichmeller, Hailey Jagodzinski, and Britni Ritchie; as well as a beloved family friend, Beth Ann Young, and Suzi, her sweet companion dog. A longtime resident of Weaver, AL, Mrs. Truman was born in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire; a small town on the edge of the Cotswolds in the UK; on November 15, 1937. Mrs. Truman was a WWII survivor and spent many years as a proud Army wife and Air Force mother. She supported St. Jude’s Childrens’ Hospital along with the East Central Alabama United Cerebral Palsy Center in Anniston, AL. She was also an avid animal lover and enjoyed her daily cup of tea. Mimi, as her grandchildren affectionately called her, will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor, her perfectly baked bread, and the love she had not only for her family, but her very dear friends, as well. During this time of uncertainty, the family will not be holding a public Celebration of Life. However, her life will be celebrated. Each day, as we use the wisdom and life lessons that Mimi left with us, her memory will be lifted up. A small, private celebration will be held later this week, and together with her husband’s, her ashes will be scattered over the places that they loved. As we grieve the loss of our Mimi, we are also very grateful for the services of Lakeside Hospice of Pell City. The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the hospice that allowed Mrs. Truman to pass in a dignified and peaceful manner.
