Miguel Hernandez-Bravo (19) passed away on Sunday, November 18th, 2018. Miguel was a current student at Cerritos College, and worked grave shift at Smart and Final to provide for his family. Born on Friday, January 29, 1999 in Monterey Park, California, Miguel is survived by his girlfriend, the love of his life; his mother, father, grandparents, brothers, sisters, and his many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Miguel was always a shining example for his family and friends, and as he grew and matured into the successful champion everyone knew him to be. He became the pride of his family and will forever be an inspiration. Miguel was successful throughout his academic years and rose to champion as one of the stars on his Downey High School wrestling team. He used this champion strength to be a protector of his family and friends, with a never-ending supply of courage and unconditional love. He expressed his heart in poems and lyrics, his love for others and his desire to do better, so that he was better for those he loved, stood out. This strong sense of love showed in every moment he took care of his grandma, and he loved her like no other. This love extended to all as he so often took care of strangers with every last coin he could spare. His compassion and absolute fairness came across to everyone who felt at every moment with him that they were not being judged in any manner, and through his being, others felt free to be themselves. Miguel was on a mission to shine; his light is now part of the eternal and will forever burn in the souls he reached.
