Mike, a son in a military family was born in White Sands, NM, on Oct. 22, 1963, one of six children born to the late Jean (Caler) and William B. Crytser, Jr.; also 8 nieces and nephews and 9 great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his beloved Goldens: Rusty, Buster and Ginger. Mike spent most of his life in Coraopolis, graduating from Cornell High School, class of 1982. He also graduated as an executive chef from the Pittsburgh Culinary Arts. He joined the U.S. Navy and had worked also for the Commissary. Combining his professions as an employee of the federal government and chef, he had worked as Cooking Supervisor for the Bureau of Prisons in Colorado, Executive Chef for Georgia Russia, and Supervisor for Morgantown, WV. Mike, a real outdoorsman, was an avid hunter, enjoyed fishing and loved dogs. He also loved baseball and intramural soft ball. For a few years, he trained dogs for local families. Constantly giving, he took care of his parents and looked out for others. He will be missed greatly. Visitation will be at Copeland’s Coraopolis and following the CDC guidelines of 25 people and wearing of masks. A celebration for both Mike and William B. Cryster, Sr. will be held when restrictions are lifted. Because of Mike’s love for dogs, the family suggests donations in his name to the Coraopolis K-9 Unit, Coraopolis Police Department, 1301 Fourth Ave., Coraopolis, PA 15108.
