Michael A. Delgado, an 8 year resident of Poughkeepsie and formerly of Cortlandt Manor and Brooklyn, passed away on May 19, 2020 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie. He was 37 years old. Michael was born on June 17, 1982 in Brooklyn, the son of Anthony and Kathleen Delgado of Cortlandt Manor. On August 19, 2012 he married the former Liane Merola. Liane survives at home. Michael was employed as the Assistant Manager at Tompkins Mahopac Bank. Michael Delgado was a kind man with a beautiful soul. If he was passionate about something then he would put his whole heart into it. His main goal was to always make people laugh and that came incredibly easy for him. Michael was very knowledgeable and if he didn’t know something he would find out. That is where his nickname “Mikeopedia” came from. He loved gaming, spending time with his wife Liane and his family, visiting the beach in Cape Cod where he proposed to his wife, discovering new hobbies, helping out with work and community fundraisers, laughing with his brothers, and being “Uncle Mike” to his nephew. If you knew Michael you loved him. His family and friends are so saddened by his sudden passing. Michael will be incredibly missed by so many. We know you have “leveled up” to heaven and will watch over all of us and still somehow make us laugh. In addition to his wife and parents, Michael is survived by his brothers, Justin Delgado of Mohegan Lake and Chad Delgado and his wife, Lauren of Mahopac; his nephew, Liam and soon to be here nephew, Lucas Michael; his grandmother, Mary Colon of Virginia; his mother-in-law, Mary Merola and brother-in-law, Michael Merola of Fishkill; his many aunts, uncles and cousins. Michael was predeceased by his father-in-law, Steven Merola. Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
