Matoka Love Rasnick December 08, 1956 – May 19, 2020 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| Memorial Donation “Mother is the name for God on the lips and heart of all Children” Matoka Love “Gran-Hay” Rasnick, 63, Elizabethton passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2020 in the Johnson City Medical Center. Born December 8, 1956 in Baltimore, Maryland, she had lived most of her life in Elizabethton. Matoka was a 1974 graduate of Elizabethton High School. she was employed by the Carter County School System for 30 years as an Instructional Aide at Keenburg Elementary School. Her grandkids were her hobby. Survivors include her husband of 43 years: Dwight Rasnick. Two Children: Lindsey Rebecca Rasnick Shepard & husband Lawrence and Carrie Marie Rasnick Hardy and companion, Michael Hicks II, Six Grandchildren: Kalijah Eugene Shepard, Arwynn Rebekah Hardy, Rheannon Marie Shepard, Esai Demetrio Morales Shepard, Annalee Love Hardy and Kassidie Elizabeth Phillips. Her Parents: Robert & Marie Stow Wright. Her Brother: Robert Wright, Jr & wife Dianne, her sister: Nancy Ledford & Husband Danny Wayne. Several nieces & nephews. The students, faculty & staff of Keenburg School and her dog Butch. It was her wish to be cremated and a Celebration of Life Service for family & co-workers will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in memory of Matoka to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105. Friends may register their presence at the funeral home 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Saturday. Condolences may be sent to the family at our web-site www.memorialfcelizabethton.con.
