Mary L. Beinke, 85, of Minden, passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2020 at Bethany Home in Minden. Public visitation will be held from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Monday, May 4, 2020 at Craig Funeral Home in Minden. Current health regulations will be followed, limiting attendance to 10 people at a time. Private family graveside services will be held at the Minden Cemetery with the Rev. Joe Tira officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mary’s honor are suggested to the First Christian Church in Minden. Craig Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Mary Louise Beinke was born on April 18, 1935 in Tabor, Iowa to Lester and Bessie (Carnes) Severn. She grew up and attended school in the Glenwood area. She was united in marriage to Dale Smith and to this union, four children were born: Cathy, Randy, Ricky, and Tracy. The couple later divorced. On October 31, 1964, she was united in marriage to Wayne H. Beinke in Glenwood, Iowa and to this union, one son, Joe was born. Mary moved to Minden in 1967, where she worked for many years as a cook. Mary was a member of the First Christian Church in Minden. She enjoyed cooking, homemaking, reading, watching Tiger Woods on television, and spending time with her family. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Randy (Lisa) Smith of Kearney, Ricky (Leslie Mayer) Smith of Omaha, Tracy (Brenda) Smith of Henderson, and Joe Beinke of Loomis; son-in-law, Louis Martinez of Minden; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Vicki, Karen, Patty, Sandra, and Francis; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Wayne in 2016; daughter, Cathy Martinez; sister, Betty; and brothers, Kelly, Lester, Danny, and Dick.
