Obituary Marilyn Ruth Voth, 82, of Chicago, Illinois passed away at 4:45 p.m. on Monday, May 18, 2020 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in O’Fallon, Illinois. She was born February 15, 1938 in Chicago, the daughter of the late Henry and Florence (Wilke) Behnke. She married Donald L. Voth on October 15, 1958 at Bethel Lutheran Church in Chicago and he passed away on March 22, 2014. She was a faithful and loving homemaker and had also worked as a secretary through the years. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Marengo, Illinois and enjoyed sewing and her days of shopping. She cherished her grandchildren and will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Laura and Craig Stroh of Edwardsville, Illinois, Thomas and Paula Voth of Buffalo Grove, Illinois and Natalie and Keith Dettmann of Grayslake, Illinois; nine grandchildren, Matthew Stroh, Rachel Mulvey, Jenna Stroh, Hannah Stroh, Ryan Voth, Michael Voth, Heather Dettmann, Amber Dettmann and David Dettmann; a great granddaughter, Ava Mulvey; other extended family and friends. In addition to her beloved husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Martin Behnke. Marilyn deserves a beautiful tribute. However during these uncertain times a memorial service will be held at a later time. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
