Obituary Marietta S. Liverman June 15, 1939 – May 12, 2020 Marietta Swain Liverman, 80, of Columbia, died, Tuesday, May 12, 2020, at her residence surrounded by her loving children. Mrs. Marietta was born in Tyrrell County on June 15, 1939, to the late Harry Preston and Mary VanHorn Swain. She was married to Wilber Ray Liverman who preceded her in death. She was a member of Malachi Chapel Free Will Baptist Church where she served as the church pianist for several years. She worked for the Tyrrell County Public Schools as an administrative assistant for over thirty years. She enjoyed traveling, sharing a meal with friends and family. Mrs. Marietta had a deep love for her family, her community, and life. A private graveside service will be held at the Cooper Family Cemetery. Pastor David Furlough will officiate. Surviving are two sons, Darryl Liverman and wife Beth, Jack Liverman, and wife Missi; one daughter, Denise Liverman all of Columbia; three grandchildren, Mallory L. Phelps and husband Brandon of Columbia, Annie L. Hopkins and husband Blake of South Mills, and Alex Liverman of Columbia; two great-grandchildren, Hayden Lynn Phelps, Della Catherine Hopkins, and one step great-grandchild Kylee Zube. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Association, 930 Wellness Dr., Greenville, NC 27834. Arrangements are by Bryan Funeral Service, Columbia.
