Marietta’s Obituary Marietta Rose (Trim) Wetzbarger passed away on April 25, 2020 while residing at the Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center in Brush, CO. Marietta was born May 25, 1931 to Clarence and Nona (Sharp) Trim near Last Chance, Colorado. She had three sisters: Virginia, Marjorie and Ruth. She also had two brothers: Dale and Hiram. Ruth (Trim) Scott of Lompoc, California is her only surviving sibling. Mary graduated from Woodrow High School in 1948. She married Wayne Wetzbarger on April 16, 1949. While he served in the Navy, Mary obtained a nurse practioner license on May 5, 1955 from Oakland, California. Mary had two children: Lorie Kay Ackerman of Woodrow, CO and Todd Wayne Wetzbarger, who passed away in 2004. Her grandchildren are: Kortnie Chavez, Shira Gonzales and Kaitlin Trizulny. Mary was the Post Mistress at the Woodrow Post Office for 42 years. During that time, she also ran the Woodrow General Store. The “coffee shop area” in the store was a popular “hangout” for the locals. She had many friends in the Woodrow and Last Chance communities. Mary had a wonderful talent of being able to hear a piece of music a couple of times and then she would sit down at a piano and play it. She entertained family and friends playing songs at Christmas and Easter. Her favorites were “The Beer Barrel Polka” and “The Sting”. Mary loved to play cards with “The Bridge Ladies”. They had hours of fun playing Bridge at each other’s houses. She is sadly missed by family and friends. Read More
