Luis’ Obituary Luis Olivas Hernandez, 94, of Howard RD, Carlsbad, NM, passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2020 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at West Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Tony Rodriguez of Spanish Church of Christ officiating. Interment will follow at Loving Cemetery in Loving, NM. Visitation will be 1-6 p.m. Monday (May 18) followed by a Prayer service at 6 p.m. at West Funeral Home. Additional visitation on Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at West Funeral Home. Luis Olivas Hernandez was born in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico on September 25, 1925 to Bartolo and Petronilla (Hernandez) Olivas. He worked in the farming industry for most of his life. Luis is survived by his sons: Jose Olivas and wife, Suzana and Juan Olivas and wife, Maria; daughters: Catalina and husband, Armando Soto, Ventura and husband, Adan Mendoza and Romula Olivas as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
