Obituary Kendra Michelle French Born: April 4, 1969 Passed Away: May 15, 2020 It is with a tremendous sense of loss that our family announces the passing of Kendra French. As we come together in a celebration of her life, we have shared so many memories of this wonderful woman, happy, full of laughter, full of life, and we would like to share some of those reminiscences with you. Kendra is survived by her beloved Boyfriend Dan Cahill of nine and a half years – her farther Tom (wife Annie), Mother Marianne Cook (husband Roger), brother Jim, sister Kristy Caughey (husband Reed), and her son Kiefer Aflague. Kendra M. French was born on April 4, 1969 in Kettering, OH. She lived her early life in Long Island, NY, moving to California starting grade school in Southern California then moving with her mother to Woodland in 1983 and starting 9th grade at Lee Jr. High and graduating from Woodland High School in 1987. Wanting to be on her own she moved in with her sister Kristy. Kendra being highly creative decided she wanted to go to beauty school and graduated from Federico Beauty School and received her Cosmetology license. While cutting hair is when she met Kenneth Aflague and they decided to get married in 1992 and had her only son Kiefer in February 9, 1991. In 1996 Kendra’s artistic art was really developing and she started practicing becoming a Disc Jockey (DJ) that changed the rest of her life. She traveled all over with some of the best DJ’s known, and many opportunities followed, and she became DJ Miss K. In 1999 she decided her DJ name would be DJ Frenchie and she started with Rave events and was soon recognized as one if not the leading female DJs and was asked to do Rave’s all over the country. She found her true passion and her love to play music. Kendra loved to play for big events, and the energy she felt from the crowds made her happy and want to play even more. Her fame came out and can be reviewed on her Facebook account. Countless posts talking about how great of a DJ she was. Having lived several places in the Sacramento area her final residence was in Fair Oaks with her Boyfriend Dan who put his life on hold to care for her. It is here that her passion was taken away with the arrival of breast cancer in 2010. Having surgery to remove the tumor went well but the oncologist report of that showed it had metastasized and started spreading. She decided to do chemotherapy which cured the cancer. One year later the cancer came back and now stage 4 and she choose not to go through Chemotherapy again. She did not consider this a death sentence instead to start living life. A common experience from her friends was if she had somewhere special to go, she wanted to take a friend with her to share it with. It was her way of thanking you and letting them know how special they were to her.
