Kathleen Joan McCormick of Amherst December 15, 1966 – May 13, 2020 Our beautiful, brave, fiercely independent, and stubborn as hell little sister went (mostly) her way after a weekend visit with friends, a couple of days with family, and a courageous battle with cancer. Kathleen proudly took care of herself, asked for little help, and was mammothly strong willed. Cancer ended her life but not her will to live. She enjoyed traveling, experiencing Ireland (outside of Galway), especially the Aran Islands, and winter trips to warmer climates with friends. Kathleen graduated from Amherst High School in 1985. She is survived by Blarney, her loving Goldendoodle, her father, Francis McCormick of Wautoma, sisters, Maureen (Jeff Soper) Borgen of Amherst, Morna (Mark) Helbach of Green Lake, Monica McCormick of Almond, also many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives, and friends. She will be missed more than she could imagine. Kathleen is preceded in death by her mother, Patsy (Neely) McCormick. A celebration of Kathy’s life will take place when COVID-19 restrictions allow. A Memorial has been set up in Kathleen’s name. Jungers-Holly Funeral Home of Amherst is assisting the family with arrangements.
