Katherine’s Obituary Katherine Dorman 7/16/24 to 4/29/20 It is with great sadness that we said goodbye to our angel, Katherine Dorman (nee Martino) age 95 of Pompton Plains, NJ. She passed away peacefully on April 29th, 2020. Katherine was born in Hoboken, NJ, She was predeceased by her husband Joseph Dorman, her parents Frank and Sadie Martino, and her brother Salvatore Martino. Katherine was a woman of great faith. She was a member of St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church in Palisades Park including the Rosary Society and Legion of Mary. She worked for Montgomery Ward as a Purchasing Agent for many years before starting her family. She also worked as an insurance agent for Cliffs Executive Travel before retiring in 1997. Katherine loved listening to her classical music and opera. She had a kind and generous heart and was always thinking of others before herself. Anyone who knew her was touched by her gentle manner and loving ways. Her wisdom and humor were great gifts. She loved traveling with her family and being introduced to new experiences with them. She enjoyed being with her family and was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her son, Charles Dorman and his wife Janice Dorman, her daughters, Maryann Magner, Eileen Dorman, Donna Vargo and her husband Ken, Susan Cirillo, 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. The family wishes to deeply thank the nurses and staff of Morristown Hospital for their compassionate care during this challenging time. Sadly, the overall restrictions in place at this time do not allow for a wake and funeral to honor her and celebrate her life with all of her family and friends.
