Kalab’s Obituary Loved here on earth as well as in heaven. Kalab Semmes Sagrera “Gorilla”, 31 residing in Meaux, LA under care of Hope Hospice, passed away on May 24, 2020, ending his fight with Crohn’s disease. Yes those who truly knew Kalab knows he fought! Kalab was born on February 24, 1989 in Abbeville, LA. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, family member and friend. Those who knew and loved Kalab even just a little lost a shining light in their lives. He was a fixer, as much as he could be. Kalab loved music and tattoos. He loved hard. Kalab will be missed everyday by his mother Tammy Gayneaux Balch; father Thomas Sagrera; sister Krissy (Steven) Pontiff;. brothers Chancey Sagrera and Jacobi Balch; niece Emily Howard and nephew Seth Howard. He is also survived by several step siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, many great friends and his beloved dog Kway. Kalab was preceded in death by maternal grandparents Ridley and Barbara Gayneaux; paternal grandparents Anthony and Hazel Sagrera. We would like to thank Hope Hospice and his nurse Jennifer and Louisiana Funeral Services & Crematory. And we cannot leave out a nurse that touched him in his journey, Mrs. Jackie Kyzar “my best nurse”! Memorial service details will be announced at a later date. Read More
