June’s Obituary June Margret Sweigart, 87, passed away in her sleep on May 22, 2020, succumbing to cancer. Born June 15, 1932 in Willow Grove, PA , to Byron and Margret Garis. She grew up and lived in Willow Grove graduating from Upper Moreland High School. In high school she excelled in basketball, field hockey and chorus. She married Charles Sweigart in 1953, after meeting on a blind date, even though he showed up late. They lived in the Montgomeryville area where they raised their five children. June drove a school bus for North Penn School District for 24 years. She was very fond of children. June sang in the church choir both in PA and in FL. for many years. After retirement she and Charlie traveled the country in their RV for a couple of years until they settled in Davenport, Florida. They lived in Florida for many years where they enjoyed going on cruises, developing new friendships, and continuing their love of camping. June liked to watch the news and was never at a loss for words. June was a recent resident of Kyffin Grove Retirement Home in North Wales after returning to the area following 24 years in Florida. Survived by husband Charles Sweigart, of North Wales PA, son Wayne Sweigart of Lansdale, PA, daughter Linda Marsilio of Sellersville, PA, son Glenn Sweigart (Cathey) of Savannah, GA, daughter Nancy Sweigart of Lansdale, PA, daughter Kathy Herbert (Brian) of Lansdale, PA, granddaughter Roseann Kleinshmidt (Andy) of Finksburg, MD, grandson Brian Sweigart (Erin) of Mentor, OH, granddaughter Christina Lopez (Jack) of Sellersville, PA, granddaughter Jessica Greener (Randy) of Sellersville, PA, granddaughter Jasmyne Pogue (Anthony) of Philadelphia, PA, fifteen great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and brother Floyd Garis of Spring House, PA. June was predeceased in death by sister Barbara Pisch. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of June to Abramson Hospice, 1425 Horsham Rd., North Wales, PA 19454 or a charity of one’s choice. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, May 26 at 11 AM in Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Ambler. Arrangements are entrusted to the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale. Read More
