A Journey of Love, Loyalty and Laughter To Everything, there is a season and a time…………… A Time to be Born………. Joel Marcus Parker, 38, of Concord, NC, was born December 29, 1981, as an elder twin, to Mr. Joey Vann & Mrs. Ruth Dent Parker, in Ahoskie, NC. He had 7 other siblings, and the family resided in Ahoskie, NC, until May 1994. A Time of Death…………. Joel transitioned from this life on Friday, May 8, 2020. He was proceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Bishop Howard and Lady Martha Dent, his paternal grandfather, Mr. Geanie Parker, Sr, aunts, uncles and cousins. A Time to be every purpose under heaven and a time to laugh………. Until his transition from this earthly home, Joel was a resident of Cabarrus County, where he and his wife, were parenting 3 children. When Joel was 12 years old, his family moved to Charlotte, NC, where he attended middle and high school, and obtained his first job. Joel was a hardworking Man and learned the importance of good work ethic and honest dealings, impressed upon him, by his older brother, Martine’, which would later hire him, his twin and Matthew, to work in several various capacities, wherever he worked. He was loved by so many people and easily made friends. He had an amazingly beautiful smile, and a distinctive laugh, that was infectious. He often became “adopted” into other people’s families, but was very loyal to his own family, which he always prioritized their importance. As a teenager, he accepted Christ into his life. In June 2000, he graduated from Garinger High School, and later attended college and moved, with his twin, to Cabarrus County, NC. He was achieved the Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification and became an Automotive Technician. He had a passion for cars. In addition, he was working on his bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, in which he was working on completing, while eventually becoming a self-employed, automotive technician. A Time to love and a time to embrace………. On June 2, 2014, Joel Michael Parker, a son, was born to he and Janet Wallace. On August 6, 2015, Joel and Janet married, and he instantly became a father of two more, Christopher and Jazlynn. Joel was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. A man that worked hard and knew the value of family and commitment. His loyalty could not be matched. He was a passionate brother and loved his siblings and parents, was a protector over his family, vowing to go to war for any of them. He loved his mom’s rice and gravy and other special dishes, his guns and his knives. He loved his immediate family dearly, with a heart of devotion to his wife and children. His nieces and nephews loved being around him, and children of the family, eventually stole his heart. In the summer of 2018, he recommitted his life to Christ. A Time to weep, a time to mourn……….
