Janet Lee (Burdine) Rhoades, 61, passed away Sunday May 24th at home after a long hard fought battle with cancer. Janet was born February 1st, 1959 in Kansas City, Missouri daughter of Ineva and Eugene Burdine. She graduated high school from Raytown South in 1977. She worked for MCC/Longview for a couple of years before attending college at CMSU. She married Raymond Rhoades on November 24, 1984. After moving to Arkansas in 1984, she graduated from ATU. In 1991 her and the family moved to Raymore, Missouri. She worked for MCC until she retired in 2015 and taught college part time until she fell ill in 2018. She was a wonderful, sweet lady loved by all, a terrific wife, mom of the year every year, and grandma 1st class. She is survived by her husband Raymond, daughters Stephanie and Breanna, grandchildren Abigail, Eleanor and Charlie. Also numerous aunts, uncles and cousins who she loved dearly. She is preceded in death by her mom and dad. Services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks any contributions be made to Sarah Cannon Cancer Center in Janet’s memory.
