James’ Obituary James M. “Jim” Pratt, Sr. 78 of Canton, Missouri passed away Sunday, May 3, 2020 at his home in Canton. The son of Elmer Lee and Mary Caroline Poole Pratt, Sr. was born on August 10, 1941 in Warren County, Illinois. He was united in marriage to Alberta Jean Cox on August 9, 1963 in Kirkwood, Illinois. Jim was of the Baptist faith. He was a member of Glass Molders, Pottery, Plastics and Allied Workers Union #143 at La Grange, Missouri. He liked to farm, hunt, fish, ride his motorcycle and listen to bluegrass music. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and his black cats. He is survived by his wife Alberta Pratt of Canton, Mo.; son, James M. (Tonya) Pratt, Jr. of Quincy, Il.; a daughter, Teresa C. (David) Burbridge of La Grange, Mo.; grandchildren, Kathryn (Keith) Brown of Camp Point, Il., Corbin Pratt of Quincy, Il., Kaleigh Burbridge of La Grange, Mo., Ashlynn Stewart Pratt of Quincy, Il.; two sisters, Charlene Feldkamp of La Grange, Mo., Mary Conn of La Grange, Mo.; sister-in-law, Darla Gallegos of Depue, Il.; and several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter, Sabrina Stewart, sister, Lois Frieden, three brothers, Joseph Pratt, Benjamin Pratt and E. Lee Pratt, Jr., half brothers, John Thurman, Dale Thurman, half sister, Ruby Sharpe, brother and sister-in-law, Cloyd “Pete” (Beverly) Cox, half brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Jane Davis. Graveside funeral services and burial will be held Tuesday, May 5, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Forest Grove Cemetery in Canton, Missouri with Rev. Brian Stone officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 12 noon until the time of services at Arnold’s Funeral Home in Canton, Missouri. Memorials may be made to Lewis County Nursing Home Helping Hands.
