Obituary James Michael Pinto, 70, passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2020, at home surrounded by family. Born on September 1, 1949, in Frostburg, Md, he was the son of Mary E. (Hoban) Pinto and the late Charles Joseph Pinto. Jim graduated from Beall High School Class of 1968 and attended ACC. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served on the USS O’Hare where he received the National Defense Service Award. Following his discharge, he was a Sales Manager in the automotive industry for 30 years and retired from Shaffer Ford. Upon retirement, he worked part time at the Rocky Gap Golf Course. An avid golfer, he was a lifetime member of the Maplehurst Country Club, a member of the Frostburg Elks 470, Frostburg Moose Lodge 348 and Cresaptown Eagles. He enjoyed golf trips to Myrtle Beach, Las Vegas and taking his mother to bingo. Surviving in addition to his mother are sisters, Deborah Ann Grieves, Owings Mills and Kathy Ann Lucas, husband David, Flintstone; nephew Jason Thomas, wife Michelle and their son Charlie, Frostburg, nephew Sean Smith, Westminster; niece, Kasey Wagner, husband Jerred and their children, Kane and Hayden, Cumberland; and his special buddy Petey who stayed by his side. The family would like to give special thanks to the Doctors and staff at Ruby Memorial Hospital and Cancer Center, Western Maryland Home Health Care and Western Maryland Home Hospice Care. Funeral services will be private and interment will be in Maryland Veterans Cemetery at Rocky Gap.
