James “Jim”‘s Obituary James “Jim” E. Manley, Sr., 81, of Assumption, died May 1, 2020, in his home. Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 8, 2020 in Bethany Cemetery, Assumption, IL. Memorials may be made to Parkinson’s Foundation or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital c/o Seitz Funeral Home 118 E. Main St. Moweaqua, IL 62550 Jim was born June 30, 1938 in Assumption, IL, the son of Nellie (Beck) Manley and step-son of Pete Pummill. He married Audrey Wiggins March 25, 1958 in Danville, IL. She survives. Jim and Audrey moved to Assumption in 1966 from McLeansboro, IL, where he worked for Caterpillar, Inc. for 31 years. They enjoyed camping and traveled to many states. Jim loved to garden, fish and hunt. He enjoyed going to estate auctions and was a collector of Indian artifacts. Jim loved his family and was especially happy when the family was gathered around the kitchen table. Surviving is his wife, Audrey; son, James (Sonya) Manley, Jr. of Assumption, IL; daughters: Pamela (Randy) Ballinger of Virden, IL, Sheri (Randy) Workman of Assumption, IL and Janet Dunn of Decatur, IL; thirteen grandchildren; many great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death are his parents, one brother, two sisters, one granddaughter and one great-grandson. Thank you to the Quad County Hospice ladies for your wonderful care. Jim cared about all of you and you brightened his day when you came in. You made this time in our life a little easier.
