Irene’s Obituary Age 98. Beloved mother of Mark (Pamela Gilbert) Wygonik. Dear grandmother of Evan Zalewski and Noah Zalewski. Irene was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Wygonik; her sisters Angela Bauman, Agnes Kolinda, Dorthy Kwasniewski, Lorraine Kaczor and Jane Smith; brothers John, Edward, Gerald and Victor Kwasniewski. Irene was a long time resident of Allen Park, Michigan, moving there in 1953. She attended St. Frances Cabrini Church and worked for Manufacturer’s National Bank for many years. She had many friends and a large, loving extended family. She and her husband Raymond moved to Virginia in 2014 to be nearer their son, Mark. There were many happy adventures until Ray’s passing in 2015. From that point, Irene was a frequent guest with Mark and his family on shopping trips, lunch outings and holiday celebrations. Irene enjoyed visits from relatives traveling through the area and the occasional visit back to Michigan. Of course Irene made many new friends in Virginia and took advantage of all of the activities at her assisted living community. Her passing and the loss it leaves, is felt by many. Visitation for Irene will take place at Weise Funeral Home. Funeral service will take place at St. Frances Cabrini Church. Details of those services will be posted as they become available. Interment St. Hedwig Cemetery. Read More
