Obituary Glenna Bernice Cramer, age 87, passed away at her home in Hillsboro after a long battle with Alzheimer disease on Friday, May 1, 2020. She worked at Frigidaire, Top Value, retiring from Sycamore Hospital working in the ER department. Glenna was born at home in Franklin, Oh to parents Dorsey S and Ellen (Wright) Brown, weighing only 2½ lbs. She contracted Polio at the age of 9. Graduating with honors from Centerville, Oh in 1951 with her 16 classmates. Glenna was a cheerleader, Lead majorette and in the 4-H club. Her senior year class trip she went to Washington DC where she aspired to be in the FBI. Fate intervened, and on July 31, 1952 She married Richard E Cramer of Miamisburg, her childhood sweetheart since the age of 13. She was an advocate for the underdog, where her views made it to “Letters to the Editor” section in the Dayton Daily News many times. She was not afraid to voice her opinion. Glenna enjoyed writing poems, an avid reader, took pleasure in sewing, canning, gardening, crochet, bowling, fishing and camping with her family. Member of the Simon Kenton Musket club and won awards for her marksmen ship. She was a member of the Sierra Club for 15 plus years, and supported the Wild Life society. Glenna had one son and four daughters, they purchased 20 acres in Miamisburg from her father n law. Built a house and lived there for over 55 years. The State took part of their property when I-75 came through and the rest in 2008 with Austin Landing. They also, had property in Palm Bay, Fl where they would go for the winter months, purchased a home in Hillsboro, Oh and lived there for over 15 years. Preceded in Death: husband Richard E Cramer of 58 years. Parents Dorsey S and Ellen (Wright) Brown. In laws, Charles and Georgia (Hutchinson) Cramer. Brothers: Rex Brown, Dorsey Brown Jr. Sister: Joyce (Brown) Strober, Brother n laws: Donald and Norman Cramer. Grandson: Valoris ”Veep” Slivinski. Survived by her sister Rose M Dotson and Brother Ronald M (Kathy) Brown Sister n laws Barbara Brown, Amelia ”Pealy” Brown. Her son Douglas E Cramer, daughters Diana L Slivinski, Debra E Dixon, Denise R and (John) Ilku, Dena M and (Ron) DePew. Glenna enjoyed 12 grandchildren: Tamara, Katie and Kendal Cramer, Kazimir Slivinski, Edward, Benjamin, and Bradford McFarland. Zack and Amanda Ilu. Shain (Amanda) Depew and Stephanie (Terry) Perkins. Glenna had 22 nieces and nephews, and 15 Great Grandchildren. Glenna fought coming into this world and went out the same. She will be missed by all that knew her and loved by many!
