Franklin ELWOOD Miller December 01, 1946 – May 09, 2020 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card FRANKLIN ELWOOD MILLER Franklin “ELWOOD” Miller, 73 of Bluefield, VA, passed away Saturday, May 09, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family after a long courageous battle with cancer. Born in West Virginia, he was the son of the late Rudy and Dottie Catherine Dollinger Miller. He had driven Coal Samples for Consol and did private contract work. Elwood enjoyed shooting pool and bowling. His favorite thing to do was spending time with his grandkids and family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Edra Eleanor miller, Edith Yates and Lloyd Miller; his children: Franklin Elwood Miller, Jr and Cherri Darlene Miller. Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters: Tara Swartz and husband, Roger of Pocahontas, VA and Crystal Graham of Pocahontas, VA; siblings: Edward Miller of Bluefield, VA, Paul Miller and wife, Sue of Bluefield, VA, Steve Miller and wife, Veronica of Bluefield, VA, Barry Miller and wife, Jane of Bluefield, VA, Fern Martin and husband, Phil of Pax, WV, Jane Jenkins and husband, Alan of Waynesville, NC and Rita Scarberry of Nashville, TN; grandchildren: Christopher Todd Miller, Austin Miller, Dustin Miller, Carson Swartz and Alexis Hulsey; numerous nieces and nephews. In keeping with state and local restrictions due to COVID-19, the family will have a private service to celebrate Elwood’s life at Dudley Memorial with Chaplain Tim Day officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens.
