Donna was born December 4th, 1938 in Clinton Mo to George and Lucille (Wentworth) Anders. Donna was a Clinton High School graduate. She spent her working career at Hallmark and later at Sprint, from which she retired in 1996. On July 7th, 1995 Donna married the love of her life Dwayne Shepherd. She and Dwayne spent 25 wonderful years together. First making their home in Warrensburg MO and then moving to the Warsaw lake area in 2003. Donna very much enjoyed the outdoors. She loved gardening, lake living, camping, boating, and fishing. She and Dwayne took many RV trips through the years. Donna was a talented seamstress and loved decorating her home. Donna also helped her husband with Sheps Prop Shop when she could – a business they enjoyed doing together. Donna was an avid reader, loved NASCAR and football. Donna had a lifelong passion for Corvettes, owning several in her lifetime – her favorite being her 1957. She deeply loved her schnauzers Tasha and Izzy. Donna is survived by her husband Dwayne, and her pal Izzy of the home. She leaves behind her beloved stepdaughter Mandy Stanton and her husband BJ of Las Vegas, and Her two grandsons Avery and Mason. Many trips were made through the years to stay close with those she loved so much. She is also survived by her stepson Matthew Shepherd of Hillsboro North Carolin, two brothers, Mike Anders (Linda) of Clinton, and Terry Anders (Trudy) of Windsor, one sister Anna Portwood of Clinton, other relatives and friends. Donna was very meticulous in everything she did, from housekeeping to dressing. She loved her clothes and she loved her jewelry. She was very quick witted and always had something to say. If you did not want to know, then you best not ask! Donna was always a giver – never a taker. She donated often and generously to several organizations throughout her life – Abused Animals organization and wounded Warriors. Donna had been fighting her illness for 10 years. She always found the best in her situation. She always said there were others worse off than she. She always looked for and found the silver lining in every obstacle she faced. She found joy in the small things of life. When travel became impossible and even getting around in her own home were becoming difficult – she remained positive. She was strong in her faith. She read her Bible and Daily Devotional. She always said that the Lord would never give her more than she could handle. Donna was a strong independent woman. She worked hard all her life and made her own way. She worshipped her husband Dwayne, and anyone could see it in the way she talked about him, laughed at him, and looked at him. Dwayne was by her side 24/7 – He always made sure she had fresh flowers in the house– something she dearly loved and appreciated, usually roses, – he was her caregiver, her soulmate, and her best friend.
