December 23 1946 May 22 2020
Clayton’s Obituary Clayton Elmer “Red” Ramsey was born December 23, 1946 in Cold Spring, NC., to the late Robert & Roxie Edda Ramsey. He passed away peacefully at his home on Friday May 22, 2020 after a long battle with cancer. Clayton was well-read and whitty. He never passed up a chance to tell a good story, no matter if he “embellished” it a little on the way. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and proudly served his country in Vietnam. He also was a member of the Young Cane Lodge F&AM #597. He never met a stranger or someone he wouldn’t talk to or help. He was an avid reader. He loved going to the fitness center to work out, play racquet ball, and drink coffee. His greatest joys were his wife & daughters, but most of all, his granddaughter; Haylen. He is preceded in death by his father and mother, brothers; Buddy, Hal “Reuben”, Densel, and Robert Jr. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years; Mary Frances, his daughters; Kelly (Beau) Harrison and Kerry (Eddie) Davis, his granddaughter; Haylen Davis, sisters; Shirley Brown and Barbara (Jerry) Stalcup, and sister-in-law; Joyce Ramsey. He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and friends. A memorial service will be held at a later date and will be announced. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to your local VFW or the Humane Society’s Mountain Shelter (P.O. Box 1252 Blairsville GA 30514) in Clayton’s memory. Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville is in charge for the arrangements. You may sign the family guest book and send condolences on line at www.mountainviewfuneralhome.com Read More
