Charles’ Obituary Mr. Charles Edward Nimes entered into rest on May 5, 2020. A memorial service will be held at a later date. He was a 1966 graduate of Immaculate Conception High School and attended Paine College. As a car salesman, he was employed for several years at Bob Maddox and later at Mercedes Benz. He was also a U. S. Army veteran. Preceding him in death were his parents, Charlie Nimes and Julia Mae Jones Nimes, a sister, Elizabeth Thornton and parents-in-law, Charlie and Lula Lee. Survivors are his wife, Betty Nimes; children, Brandon Edward (Natasha Williams), Kimberly (Joseph) Lyons; brother, Johnny (Marchete) Nimes; ten grandchildren, Amare Hilliard, Zion Nimes, Kailey Nimes, Janaire Sapp, Ny’Kori Nimes, Braniya Nimes, Brandi Nimes, Brendan Griffin, Zalayah Nimes, Brayen McTier; devoted cousin, Rosella Dent; niece, Tara (Octavius) Terrell; nephew, George Pete (Stephanie) Merriweather; sisters-in-law, Dorothy and Raymond Wilkes, Sandra and William Jasper; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
