Obituary Carol Helen Sly Matheny Apple was born on March 3rd 1944 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane Washington, to Walter Leo Sly and Alice Thelma Clairmont Sly. Carol was many things to many people…a wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, Grandmother-in-law, great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She had the most beautiful smile and a mischievous twinkle in her eye. She was adventurous, complicated, strong, inspiring, sassy, determined and didn’t hesitate to voice her point of view. If you ever needed her, she was there. Her fighting spirit will continue to motivate us all. She loved our Lord and sought his comfort and mercy often. She was the hub of our family, and instilled in us all the fortitude to keep on rolling, with her memory and determination still in place at the hub and heart of this crazy family. She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters Beverly and Norma, Ted Matheny Sr., Rachel baby and her fur baby Mack. She leaves behind her husband, William Lee Apple of Brown Summit NC. Sister Marilyn/Lloyd Stevens of Seattle Washington, Daughter Deborah/Jeff Rachel of Greensboro NC, son Ted James Matheny Jr, of Washington New Jersey, son Christopher/Dana Matheny of Lake Oswego OR and son Nathan/Shawna Matheny of Midlothian VA. Grandchildren Brandon/Leslie Rachel, Joshua Rachel, Celeste Helen Matheny & Alyssa, Scott/Courtney Matheny, Haley Matheny/Jeff and baby Teddy, Lex, Sly & Bo Matheny, Caitlyn and Dylan Matheny. Great Grandsons Sebastian and Ellington Rachel. Step sons Matt and Josh/Jenny Apple and grandchildren Lily and Will Apple. Many, many nephews and nieces. Many cousins, kin and friends on the Salish-Kootenai Flathead Indian Reservation in Polson Montana. Carol didn’t want a funeral, but wants a joy filled party to celebrate her life…lots of laughter, food, music and stories about her! Anyone with a story is welcome. Date to be announced. Cremation arrangements entrusted to Triad Cremation & Funeral Service of Greensboro, NC.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Carol Apple March 3 1944 May 11 2020 (age 76).
